2nd Semester
Year 2
Advanced Game Design: In this group module, we developed a 3D adventure puzzle game in a low poly environment. I have been assigned as a puzzle and level designer for the group. I have made some concepts of levels for the team and how it works. after concluding a chosen level, I then add different ways we can challenge the player by adding puzzles. Inspired by The Witness, I wanted to add environment puzzles where the player is needs to explore its surroundings to solve the puzzles.
Digital Narrative Module: In this module, we focused on our creative writing in storytelling and how we can implement this to our design process when building a game. We first created a cinematic story of a lone police detective working on a case in a futuristic dystopian environment.
I have had several roles within this module including 3D Artist, Voice Acting, and graphic design.
Digital Character Art: In this module, we further advanced in 3D design. This is my first time working on a high poly asset and working with complex topology. However, I have learnt a lot in 3DS Max and tidying up polys during my work.
Year 3
1st Semester
Dissertation: In this open brief, I had to structure a 8000+ worded dissertation with a 3D environment. I explored and expiemneted on music and how it can drive creativity in the creative industry.
I have chosen to work on a 80s inspired cyberpunk bar. This theme was inspired by the music I have been listening to by the time I was developing this project. At the end of the project, I have produced a 3D bar environment and 11,000+ worded document.
Final Major Project (Mad Mansion): This was my final major project, I wanted to showcase my 3D skills to the team as I was assigned as a 3D artist.
This project enhanced my proficiency and speed in 3DS Max, helped me understand and use Substance Painter better and first time using Unity. I have been using Unreal Engine for the past project so using Unity was a new experience but was not any trouble as I had help from the team and the application wasn't too bad to use.
I have achieved a First Honours degree in Games Design and Production at the University of Salford.
